Play for Life /

RESET is a program designed for athletes and high-performance individuals – like yourself. RESET enhances athletic performance and gives you the competitive edge by treating injury and resetting your body to its top-performance level.

It takes advantage of the off-season to reset full mobility, range of motion and proper function so that you can restart each season at a higher performance level than the season before. Treatment can be done in conjunction with your team or coach’s plans, or it can be done discreetly away from the pressures of the sports arena.

RESET is a progressive program in that it addresses the concerns of the body that would otherwise become issues later – in your career or upon retirement. By performing minimally-invasive procedures and highly-skilled medical techniques, our skilled physicians and surgeons remove scar tissue, increase range of motion, improve muscle, bone and joint function, correct injuries and remove pain.

RESET is comprehensive and effective because it combines the experience and dedication of BACAS Interventional Pain Management with cutting-edge methodology. Our physicians give equal weight to the nature of your pain or injury and to the specific demands your sport places on your body. RESET focuses on precise diagnosis and targets treatment at the primary injury site as well as any musculoskeletal areas that have been weakened because of the pain. We personalize each player’s rehabilitative process with the goal of optimal output, which may result in increasing your overall performance and playing time when the playing season begins.

Philosophy /

BACAS Interventional Pain Management believes in treating the whole body, not just the injury – not just the pain. In order to reset total-body performance levels and encourage performance growth, we look at the ways an injury impacts other parts of the body and recommend treatment plans that heal the musculoskeletal system as a whole rather than as individual parts.

Season over season, BACAS dedicates itself to continual growth and improvement in our processes and procedures. Our mission is to enable our RESET patients to do the same in their athletic careers, improving quality of life and encouraging maximum output season after season.

Where does it hurt?

Elbow Painx

Elbow pain can be one of the most debilitating types of pain, especially for throwing athletes. Pain or weakness in the elbow cannot be “waited out” or shaken off. The sooner the problem is identified and treated, the sooner your performance levels will return to normal.

Wrist / Hand Painx

Ignoring or trying to “shake off” persistent pain, tingling or numbness in your arms, elbows or hands won't make the problem go away. At the onset of these symptoms, it is important to correctly diagnose the true origin. Pain, numbness or tingling in the arms or hands can be caused by performance-related factors like injury or overuse, or by external factors like environment or stress.

Arm Painx

Ignoring or trying to “shake off” persistent pain, tingling or numbness in your arms, elbows or hands won't make the problem go away. At the onset of these symptoms, it is important to correctly diagnose the true origin. Pain, numbness or tingling in the arms or hands can be caused by performance-related factors like injury or overuse, or by external factors like environment or stress.

Shoulder Painx

Because the shoulder is a complex joint, it is prone to a variety of injuries, which can be complicated to identify and treat. Besides the fact that optimal shoulder function is required for every sport, it’s important to treat shoulder pain thoroughly because it directly affects the health and performance of your back, neck and arms.

Neck Painx

Neck pain must be treated promptly or you run the risk of long-term spinal problems. Neck health cannot be underestimated, especially for those who are constantly in motion. Thorough and accurate examination and diagnosis can identify, treat and reverse the problem.

Head Painx

Headaches will slow you down mentally as well as physically. While headaches are somewhat common, persistent or intense head pain is unhealthy. Proper diagnosis is essential for pinpointing the origin of the pain and treating the root problem.

Chest Painx

Thoracic pain is a debilitating disorder that often culminates in the spinal region. When it occurs, it causes significant discomfort and even shooting pains throughout the back and chest region. It can literally affect your every breath, limiting playing levels in more ways than one.

Rib Painx

Thoracic pain is a debilitating disorder that often culminates in the spinal region. When it occurs, it causes significant discomfort and even shooting pains throughout the back and chest region. It can literally affect your every breath, limiting playing levels in more ways than one.

Hip Painx

Hip and groin pain have a dramatic effect on mobility, range of motion, knee and leg strength, and back and spinal health. Identifying the problem and understanding which treatment will be the most restorative to your body is what BACAS does best every day.

Knee Painx

A number of issues can lead to prolonged knee pain, often affecting a hip, leg or foot as well. Contributing factors like nerve damage or trauma can impact the nervous system, leading to symptoms of swelling, skin changes and pain or sensitivity. Knowing which treatment will provide the most relief in the least amount of time is what BACAS does best every day.

Foot Painx

Foot pain among athletes is both a common and complex pain. There can be many contributing factors to foot pain, but any of them is guaranteed to slow you down. Risks include permanent nerve damage, swelling, toenail issues and infection, along with pain, sensitivity or numbness.

Program

Are my injuries really hurting me?

No matter how major or minor, athletic injuries can chip away at performance. Even after the healing process, many injuries or stubborn pains result in a quantifiable loss of speed, strength or range of motion. That means athletes who were functioning at 100% before enduring injury may perform at 96% afterward. A follow-up injury in the next season can dock performance levels down to 92%, and so on each season until the athlete can no longer maintain a competitive level of performance. It is this gradual decline that the RESET program seeks to circumvent. Don’t let playing in pain impact your game.

Why is getting treated so important?

Athletes – To stay competitive, you have to always be performing at your best. RESET not only restores worn tissues, muscles and joints to a healthy state, but specifically focuses on improving tissue and muscle function wherever an athlete needs it most.

Parents – Help your child prevent any future injuries and enable them to give maximum output season over season, enhancing the longevity of their athletic career.

Coaches – Your dedication to your players is more than just winning the games. Break the cycle of pain and help your athletes get to their next level by preventing injuries and enabling them to give maximum output season over season.

What are the benefits of RESET?

The quick list of benefits of the RESET program includes:

  • Repairs injured areas
  • Reduces pain associated with the injury
  • Improves overall function, especially strength and range of motion
  • Limits season-over-season decline in overall performance levels
  • Promotes a stronger, longer athletic career
  • Boosts likelihood of overall health, strength and injury-prevention post-athletic career
  • Overall, gives you the competitive advantage

Working with BACAS

What should I expect during my visit at BACAS?

Our commitment to you is to make sure you know exactly what to expect and are fully comfortable with your entire treatment process. All new patients go through careful steps during their treatment cycle, including an initial consultation, diagnostic tests, diagnosis and next steps, corrective treatment and follow up. Contact BACAS for more details regarding our process.

When does the program start if I’m currently training or in the middle of my season?

The program will start during your off season. By taking advantage of the off season, this program resets full mobility, range of motion and proper function so that you can restart each season at the top of your game.

How long will it take to recover?

Each athlete is different when it comes to the injuries they suffer and their treatment cycle, including healing time. To ensure healing and reparation of injured areas, proper healing time should be during the off season.

What types of procedures are used?

Treatment options depends on the initial exam and diagnostic tests. BACAS can work with you on rehabilitating the injured area, using noninvasive therapy that targets key muscle and ligament groups that need to regain strength and range of motion.

Surgery is not usually necessary, but if needed, we will begin with minimally-invasive corrective procedures to get the repair process started right away. If you have had prior surgery, we sometimes find that while the original surgical site healed fantastically, surrounding tissues or ligaments were oftentimes slightly damaged in the process – resulting in continued pain and decreased performance. BACAS will focus on treating the source of the pain, along with any other affected areas.

For athletes with chronic pain or recurring injuries, we recommend coming in every off-season so that you can get prepared to perform at your best during the next season.
